Synopsis

Thematic tour with a focus on the gods, the funeral beliefs, the techniques used to preserve the bodies and the grave goods of ancient Egyptian culture.

The Egyptologist takes the group in the galleries of the Museo Egizio to discover the collection, stimulating the observation and comparison skills and adapting the tour to the age of the students. Each guided tour will focus on a selection of museum galleries and objects based on the chosen theme.

THE SECRETS OF ANUBIS

The workshop explores the themes of funerary cults and embalming, a practice overseen by the god Anubis. To understand which organs were extracted from the body of the deceased, the practice of evisceration is explained through the use of a mannequin. A special focus is reserved to the function of the protective amulets. Each participant paints his own plaster amulet. Read all
