Synopsis

Thanks to the new exhibition area, Materia. Forma del Tempo, you can discover the materials used by the Egyptians and the role of science and modern technologies applied to the study of the past. The tour continues with a selection of objects from other galleries of the museum.

The Egyptologist takes the group in the galleries of the Museo Egizio to discover the collection, stimulating the observation and comparison skills and adapting the tour to the age of the students. Each guided tour will focus on a selection of museum galleries and objects based on the chosen theme.

The workshop explores the themes of funerary cults and embalming, a practice overseen by the god Anubis. To understand which organs were extracted from the body of the deceased, the practice of evisceration is explained through the use of a mannequin.
