Synopsis
The experience offers a special focus on the religious cults and funerary rites of pharaonic culture. Students examine several mummies that are particularly representative of different historical periods and learn about the corresponding techniques of body preservation.
They also use a specially created timeline to trace the evolution of tomb architecture. Significant attention is given to the meaning of the cults, rituals, and funerary assemblages.
The Egyptian Museum has developed a student-friendly digital experience to be enjoyed in the classroom under the guidance of an Egyptologist. The Live Web Connection allows students to explore fascinating aspects of pharaonic culture. It offers the opportunity to examine some of the collection’s artefacts in detail and to interact with an Egyptologist from the museum, becoming active participants of the meeting. Custom videos, animations, and artwork make the content engaging and effective.
The contents of this experience provide useful coordinates to approach the study of ancient Egyptian civilization.
